Loft clearances are awkward rather than big: a small hatch, a ladder, no light and boxes that have not moved in twenty years. The crew bring everything down safely and take it away.
Most loft clearances in West London happen for one of two reasons: a loft conversion is about to start, or a house is being sold and the survey wants the space empty. Either way the job is the same: get everything through a hatch the size of a tea tray without damaging the ceiling, the landing or the crew.
The team work in pairs, one in the loft passing down and one on the ladder receiving, with sheets on the landing carpet. Boxes are brought down whole where they will fit and repacked where they will not. Old carpets, suitcases, cots, Christmas decorations and the occasional water tank all come out the same way.
Anything you want to keep is sorted on the landing before it goes to the van, and can be moved to storage at Big Yellow Ealing if the conversion means it has nowhere to live for a few months.
Send a photo of the hatch and one of the loft from the top of the ladder, and Dave will quote from those.
What's included

Disused water tanks and pipework (disconnected)
Landing and stairs protected
Kept items sorted and boxed
Storage at Big Yellow Ealing during a conversion

Disposal through licensed facilities
Clearing and moving? One quote can cover the clearance, the move, packing and storage. Tick what applies on the form and Dave plans it as one job.
Furniture and fittings in good condition are set aside for family, resale or donation before anything is loaded for disposal.
2
Recycle what can be
Metal, timber, cardboard and electricals are kept apart from general waste and taken to facilities that recycle them.
3
Licensed facilities only
What is left goes to licensed waste and recycling facilities. Nothing is left on a verge, and the crew will say up front if an item needs a specialist contractor.
“David and his team recently moved the Gp Surgery I work for. It was located in a huge 3 storey old house, with loft and outside space. It had been home to a Gp Surgery accommodating over 9,000 patients, for decades so this was not an easy job! They completed it earlier than expected and during opening hours!!! They were professional, efficient and extremely accommodating! They made the move so much smoother than anticipated! Would definitely use in the future and recommend! (to add we had already previously used their services to move furniture from my mums house).”

If you are moving....Move with these guys. Brilliant
“We requested packing and moving due to the volume of stuff. The team came in and packed on the Saturday before the move. Fragile items were treated with the utmost care and expertly wrapped (no breakages after the move which was impressive) On move day they arrived early, were super efficient in emptying and packing the last bits (out of an overloaded loft) and then staying late when our key handover was delayed. A Herculean effort from the whole team including reassembling all our beds and furniture and all completed with courtesy, respect and plenty of good humour. Five stars - Recommended!!”

Loft Clearance: your questions
Can you clear a loft with a small hatch?

Can you store what I want to keep?
Yes, at Big Yellow Self Storage Ealing, where MV Movers are based.
Photos first, price second.
Send a few photos of what needs clearing with the floor and the date. Dave replies with a fixed price, usually the same day.
