Probate & Bereavement House Clearance

Clearing a parent’s or relative’s home is not a normal job and the crew do not treat it as one. Executors and families tell Dave what must be kept, and the team work to that list, quietly.

MV Movers Luton van parked outside a semi-detached house in West London

A Brentford executor who booked the crew wrote on Checkatrade that Dave "listened about which items were to go and passed this to the three-man team who were quickly allocated tasks and who double checked with me". That is how it is done: a walk round first, a clear list of what stays, and a team that asks rather than assumes.

Paperwork, photographs, jewellery and anything that looks personal are set aside rather than cleared, even when nobody has mentioned them. Furniture in good condition is separated for reuse. Items for family members can be delivered to several addresses in the same day, and anything undecided can go into storage at Big Yellow Ealing until the family has had time.

Solicitors and estate agents often need the property empty for valuation or sale on a date, and the crew work to it. A Greenford family booked a clearance "following death of owner" and simply wrote that they "were happy with work", which is the only review that matters on a job like this.

There is no pressure on timing. Call or message Dave when you are ready and he will arrange to look at the property with you.

Where we do it

How disposal works

Sorted, not just taken away

1

Reuse first

Furniture and fittings in good condition are set aside for family, resale or donation before anything is loaded for disposal.

2

Recycle what can be

Metal, timber, cardboard and electricals are kept apart from general waste and taken to facilities that recycle them.

3

Licensed facilities only

What is left goes to licensed waste and recycling facilities. Nothing is left on a verge, and the crew will say up front if an item needs a specialist contractor.

If you are moving....Move with these guys. Brilliant

“We requested packing and moving due to the volume of stuff. The team came in and packed on the Saturday before the move. Fragile items were treated with the utmost care and expertly wrapped (no breakages after the move which was impressive) On move day they arrived early, were super efficient in emptying and packing the last bits (out of an overloaded loft) and then staying late when our key handover was delayed. A Herculean effort from the whole team including reassembling all our beds and furniture and all completed with courtesy, respect and plenty of good humour. Five stars - Recommended!!”

Multi-stop removals trip to clear my late mother's flat.

“The two men provided by MV Movers were friendly, polite, and very efficient. Although they were paid hourly, they were keen to keep the time as short as possible, although they were also more than happy to move items which we had not originally asked to be moved. They arrived a little late, owing to traffic conditions, which could have been a reason for marking them down but they went on to complete all collections and deliveries well within the time we had anticipated.”

FAQ

Probate & Bereavement House Clearance: your questions

Do we have to be there?

Not for the clearance itself, if you prefer not to be. Most families do a walk-round first with Dave, then leave the crew to it, or an agent or solicitor can hold the keys.

What happens to things that are found?

Anything personal, from paperwork to photographs to jewellery, is set aside and handed to you, never cleared without asking.

Can furniture go to family members?

Yes. The crew can deliver to several addresses on the same day, or put items into storage until everyone has decided.

Can you clear just part of the house?

Yes. Many families clear in stages. The crew take what you are ready to let go and come back for the rest when you are.

Photos first, price second.

Send a few photos of what needs clearing with the floor and the date. Dave replies with a fixed price, usually the same day.
